Konica Minolta Planetarium “PLANETARIA YOKOHAMA” in Yokohama Gate Tower

On March 24, KONICA MINOLTA PLANETARIA YOKOHAMA, the fifth directly operated Konica Minolta Planetarium, opened in the newly constructed “Yokohama Gate Tower” in Takashima, Nishi-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The facility is located in an urban office building, offering a “Starry Sky" experience that allows visitors to enjoy nature in a modest and luxurious atmosphere.

Cafe & Gift Store built in

Like its sister facility, Konica Minolta Planetaria TOKYO in Yurakucho, Konica Minolta Planetaria YOKOHAMA features Cafe Planetaria and Gallery Planetaria, a gift store. Drinks and snacks from the cafe can be brought inside the dome and enjoyed while viewing the starry sky. In keeping with the theme of stars, constellations, and galaxies, the gift store sells assorted goods and accessories. These are recommended not only as souvenirs, but also as personal gifts.

DYNAVISION-LED

DYNAVISION-LED is the first LED dome system in Japan. This system has achieved a much higher brightness and a wider color gamut than conventional projection systems and are DYNAVISION-LED’s most impressive features. This new level of high brightness and broad color range are combined with our latest digital planetarium solution, Media Globe Σ SE, to create an amazingly realistic and photorealistic experience of the starry sky and the universe.
With the combination of DYNAVISION-LED and Media Globe Σ SE, it is now possible to reproduce the beauty of the vivid blue sky and ocean, the red brightening of a gorgeous sunset, and the twinkling shiny stars. The depth of the image serves to increase the sense of immersion and makes it more realistic than ever before.
