Notice Regarding Production Resumption at Konica Minolta Supplies Factories

Tokyo (October 18, 2021) - Regarding the accident that occurred at Tatsuno Factory of Konica Minolta Supplies Manufacturing Co., Ltd. on August 12, we sincerely apologize for the considerable inconvenience and concerns among local residents, relevant authorities, and customers who use our products. The following is the current status toward restarting production:
Restarting production at Kofu Factory
Kofu Factory, after suspending its operation since the accident at Tatsuno Factory, resumed toner production on October 18. Before restarting production, The factory completed its risk assessments on the safety measures by experts without problem.
Production restart plan at Tatsuno Factory
Tatsuno Factory is on its way to resume production on November 8, as planned. On October 16 and 17, briefing sessions were held for residents in the neighboring communities at Tatsuno. We explained what happened in the accident, the causes, countermeasures to gain their understanding.
The Konica Minolta Group takes the accidents seriously and will continue to strive to ensure the safety of the community. At the same time, we would like to express our sincere apologies for the accidents, which caused concerns and inconvenience to our customers due to a shortage in the supply of toners. We also ask for understanding and support as we work to resume production in the future.

When this notice was first published on October 18, the date for Tatsuno Factory to restart production was incorrectly noted as November 18. The correct date of Tatsuno Factory’s resuming production is November 8.
